A collection of the different kinds of glitches, bugs, and overall annoyances I faced with my first playthrough of Twisted Metal for the Playstation 3.

First of all I have to say that I was extremely pissed with the freeze attack in the story mode. You literally cannot go 5 seconds without being struck down and frozen with a freeze blast, especially if you play as talon (the helicopter). This wouldn't be much of a problem if it wasn't hard to get out of but as soon as that "pound buttons" prompt shows up I try to react the best I can by...well... pressing all the buttons at once, but this just doesn't seem to work. It takes like 6 seconds to get out of the freeze blast and finally start driving.

Another problem I faced was in terms of gameplay was the shifting cross hair. I noticed this problem was much more prominent during helicopter gameplay though. The problem mostly occurred when you activate the machine gun special for talon. When you try and aim by shifting reticles on different opponents, just as you hold it on one opponent that is right in front of you it shifts to another behind a building or not in your field of view. It seems as if the reticle is better for long range enemies instead of ones in plain sight. This really annoyed me as it was a reoccurring problem and forced me to waste the special.

Some other minor inconveniences that occurred during gameplay were:

- Music skipping or going silent for a prolonged period of time and then returning.

- Clipping issues with buildings as they tend to drag the car I'm in or stop it dead in it's tracks.

*I will note more as I come across them.

Other than the problems above I haven't found an issue or bug in this game yet.

Twisted Metal PS3 Review - Single Player

It's come a long way since its first debut on the Playstation one back in 1996. Twisted Metal always had a special place in my heart as a series and this game is no exception. The ps3 release has taken the original game and blown it out of proportion.

The game is like no other you'll ever play.

The gameplay is riveting, the graphics a little dated but very tolerable, the soundtrack amazing, and the cut scenes had a very Grindhouse-esque feel which was very well done while being a tad bit cheesy.

Gameplay:

The gameplay feels like a modern shooter, but with cars. There are explosions that attack you every which way and make you feel like you're in a battle zone filled with cars. There are different game modes that add to the experience, including racing. Racing was definitely the most suprising installment into this game (and franchise) because it was new to the series and kept gameplay fresh and new during your first playthrough. What I love most about the gameplay is how replayable it is. Every time you're gonna want to replay a level to get something you hadn't before or to experiment new weapons or vehicles. One problem I had with the gameplay though was all the wreckage... it gets in your way and there is only certain buildings your able to smash through leaving the others untouchable which is a pain because you're always attempting to smash through an unbreakable building and left stalling or stopping. Another problem I faced during my first playthrough was the enemy car's ability to freeze me, this takes some getting used to however I feel like it should've been presented at a later time during the game instead of at the start when I'm just started to get a feel for the game. My final rating for Gameplay is 9/10

Soundtrack:

I can honestly say that Twisted Metal for the ps3 has the greatest soundtrack for a modern video game I've ever heard. The company got the licenses for a ton of wicked rock songs that really adds to the gameplay experience. My final rating for Soundtrack is 9/10

Cut-Scenes:

The live-action cut scenes in the game are every bit important as the game itself. I'm not like most people who only play games for the gameplay, I find the story to help me better understand the character's situation which over-all helps my performance on the game itself. If I know what I'm playing for it makes it more rewarding. Which is why the story in Twisted Metal really was a decent one. Playing as Mr.Grimm was a pleasure overall because of his situation in the story, however I'm not going to spoil it. My final rating for Cut-scenes (and story) is 7/10.

Final Verdict:

Gameplay (including graphics): 9/10

Soundtrack: 9/10

Cut-Scenes (including story): 7/10

Final score: 8.5/10

The Reason for my GOTY

Last GOTY post then back to regular posts...

-it's because I don't like RPG's. (Which is Skyrim, but I rate Skyrim 8/10 for effort)

-it's because Uncharted 3 cannot ever beat Uncharted 2 (I rate Uncharted 3 9.6 because it's still Amazing!)

- and that leaves Batman... hmmm.... what can I say bad about batman? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. However I can still say that there are way too many pricey dlcs out that actually ruin the experience for me. Here's a tip rocksteady... if you have a great selling game, don't ruin it by adding expensive dlc to it. Do what glorious Valve did and give top notch dlc for free!

I rate Batman: Arkham City 9.8/10. I love the story, the gameplay, the voice-acting, the depiction of Batman....I just severely hate the dlc. Who seriously would want to buy a robin costume who has the exact same powers as batman (in the game) for (I think it's) $6.99. Also I was not a fan of Robin in the story. (He was there for like 10 seconds).

So that's my rant on Skyrim, Uncharted 3, and Batman: Arkham City.

I have nothing bad to say about Portal 2, Valve you are seriously the greatest company in the world.... Keep the games coming! (Ep. 3?)

Now first of all I want to start by saying I did not play that many games this year so my idea of game of the year is incredibly biased. I'm basing my "game of the year" on only games that I have played or games that I have a rough idea of.

Lets start with games I did not play:
