Working on full-length feature film

It's a working title project that I've been wanting to do for a long time. Right now it's in the script writing process. I've written over 12 full 8 1/2 by 11 inch pages so far and I will transfer it into Celtx soon.

It's a film about zombies and the survival of 2 people. Comedy/horror is my approach to this movie. The budget should be $1000+ dollars. This covers the cost of the camera (Canon HV40) and hopefully a new laptop. I need actors as well. I am in desperate need of actors. My friends are useless.

My original plan was as the following: Buy a $6000 camera ( Panasonic HVX200A or 200B w/ $200 lens filters), a $1000 Vaio laptop, and hire some well actors making the end cost to be close to $9000-$10000. This, of course was a dream...instead I'll get a $1000 camera, a cheap $100 laptop and maybe, just maybe 1 or 2 actors.

I'm still sorting things out but I don't expect the film to be made any time soon. I'm almost considering not releasing it until a few years down the road.

It will go up on youtube, but it'll have to be in parts.

Uncharted 3 Gameplay footage and Behind-the-Scenes

Click here for Uncharted 3 gameplay footage from the late night with Jimmy Fallon.

Click here for Naughty Dog's Uncharted 3 behind-the-scenes

The gameplay is what was in the screenshot I posted a while back with the fire in the building.

Apparently during 7:08 during the behind-the-scenes, on one of the computers you can see in the background it shows Nathan Drake with a motorcycle underneath, this is just speculation but that would be awesome!

I hope to death there will be more co-op, more story, more multiplayer and what would really be the icing on the cake would definately be local multiplayer (co-op/competetive).

Uncharted 1 and 2 reviews coming soon.

New Uncharted 3 VGA trailer

We get a release date ^
The trailer it out here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imxYEIScL8o
It shows cut-scenes to where the story will be basing. It shows what it's about, the treasure of Lawrence of Arabia. AND it shows a small amount of gameplay. The gameplay suggests there will be underwater adventures from a sinking boat, explosions with Sully and much more. Oh ya...Sully is back! Thank god. Still no word yet on Elana or Chloe yet.

Jungles, Mexican Villages, caves, etc. and now deserts and ocean expoditions. Is there anywhere Nathan Drake won't go? It looks like Drake will travel through Europe as well.

New updates as info. arises.

Uncharted 3 concerns

If 3 long posts about my excitement of a game seems too geeky, prepare for my concerns that this game will not make it to video game stardom.

1. I think the game will have awfully large multiplayer maps that will be struggling to get any kills. The second game had the same problem for a couple of the maps.

2. What the hell is there to do in the desert? Seriously... Walk around a dusty wasteland of nothingness.

3. Tasteless repeditiveness. Uncharted 3: Planes crash once again? How many times have they made that happen? Again with the story on how Uncharted rips off most adventure movies (Indiana Jones, National Treasure, etc.)

4. This has nothing to do with the 3rd game but I must complain about this...for the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune movie which director David O. Russell has kindly lended his talent to produce, has taken a turn for the dumps.
-Who would cast Mark Walhberg as any actor? Let alone good ol' nathan drake, Nathan Fillion makes a much better choice.
- Instead of Nazi Zombies as Nathan Drake's threat, what about cuddly little teddys? That's right, David O. Russell's plan for the movie is to be based as a Family Film.
- The only good thing that has come with Russell is casting Robert Deniro, still no word yet on which UC: DF character he will play but if it's Sully, it would be Russell's first good decision as director.

So that's my rant. I really really really really really really REALLY want to play the crap out of the new uncharted game, even if these things will be true. And I do want to see the movie, even if it sucks...it's still Uncharted.

Got SPVTW

I own the game, movie and soon the comics of the best Canadian depiction of a 24-year-old of all time.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was my favourite movie since Rocky Balboa.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - 10/10

One movie that sucks.......

I really do like Tarantino but there is one movie in particular that really is shit. That movie is Jackie Brown. It doesn't really feel like a movie Tarantino would direct, but sadly enough, it is. The movie is based around this chick that is trying to cheat her way into getting large sums of money. The lack of action and music really draws me out of it, it's hard to pay attention, It's boring. When I try to connect what's going on in the movie, it has some sort of twist that leads me away. Some movies can do that well but this cannot. It's a 3 hour steaming pile of boring with no interesting moments through the first half, then the last quarter. It doesn't leave any suprises, it just was not that good.

Jackie Brown - 4/10
Harsh enough? I think not.

This man is a genius.

I only recently started watching Taratino's movies. I completely love almost every movie I've seen so far.
I got the collection of 6 of his movies, just to try something new. I've been craving something different for a long time now and Tarantino definately fills my appetite... I started out watching Kill Bill Vol. 1 on PeachTree TV a while back and I thought it was one of the best movies I had ever seen, sure it was corny and had a lot of cheese smeared into the dialog but that's one of Quentin's main methods of filming, it's something no one would expect, IT'S BRILLIANT! It's the fact that there is much action and thrills and the fact that there is a style of directing that no other Hollywood creator could match that would form a equilibrium of disgusting violence mixed with a taste of excellent humor, which by the way is very subtle and suits the moment, and amazing filming styles. I now have a new favourite director and his name is Quentin Tarantino. Thank you for making movies less of the same and more of the awesome!

Here is a list of ratings of the Tarantino movies I've seen so far:
Kill Bill Vol. 1 - 10/10
Kill Bill Vol. 2 - 7/10
Pulp Fiction - 9/10
Resovoir Dogs - 7/10
Death Proof - 6.5/10
Inglorious Basterds - 7.5/10
(when I see more I will put it in my next blog post)

Best PSP combo pack!

Damn I wish I would've waited for this, I got the Rock Band one. :( The PSP itself would look a lot cooler if Kratos' face was on it (or at least the logo) but this pack is amazing! GOW: COO, GOW: GOS, 2GB Memory Stick and Kick-Ass. Best games for psp and one of the best movies of all time, I'm so glad Kick-Ass was the movie in this pack, great choice!

Can't Believe I forgot!

On an earlier post on my blog I wrote I may be working with machinima director Lieutanteddy. Well that is true as of a coupla weeks ago. I wrote everywhere (Facebook, youtube, twitter) I can't believe I forgot my blog... anyway I'm in his Ray William Johnson Parody called Eight Equals Equals Dee (8==D get it?) It's a video game version of RWJ about people who suck at video games, I'm the last video shown in the compialation of me and my cousin losing a match of Chain Reaction in less than 30 seconds in Uncharted 2. It's really funny view it here CLICK HERE TO VIEW LIEUTANTEDDY'S RAY WILLIAM JOHNSON PARODY WHICH I"M A GUEST STAR IN I'm not shown for very long but on a seperate note I did help LieutenantEddy (via facebook) with a name for his e-mail account for people to send in their bad video game clips.

NEW VIDEO RELEASED!

It's a re-edit of an old video I made back in 2009 with my friend Nick. I removed after some personal issues but it's back now and better than before with a new song included makes the watching experience that much better. If you've heard of the song it's "Home" by Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros.

From Paris with Love and Triage Reviews

From Paris with Love starring John Travolta and that guy who carries the vase of pot was about a terrorist attack on former-president Hilary Clinton. It has lots of action, comedy and even some drama. John Travolta plays an agent who plays by his own rules which lead to confusion and problems, he eventually explains himself and everything seems good. The ending leaves an opening for a sequel. From Paris with Love gets 7/10.

Triage was a war chick flick if you believe me. It has some action but most of the movie is set in Scotland or wherever at this guy's house. The acting is poorly delivered at times but is easy to follow. I do enjoy the action scenes and the ending but it was mostly sorrow, pain and drama and I'm not interested in that. Triage gets 5/10.

Kick-Ass and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Reviews

I recently went to the theaters, more like yesterday and watched a movie called Scott Pilgrim vs. The World starring Michael Cera and directed by Edgar Wright. I really had doubts about it but when I walked out it was really a hilarious and action packed film. There was a ton of special effects that blew my mind away, some looked even better than Avatar (did I really just say that?). I loved the movie for many reasons one of them includes all the video game and comic book references, the opening of the Universal logo was all 8-bit animated and had an 8-bit song to it, it really reminded me of all the NES games that I used to love...and still do! There was even a part where Scott gets an extra life that says (1 up) and he makes a funny joke. My favourite part about the movie is the way I spelt "favourite"...that's right, it's Canadian! The movie is directed by the guy who directed such popular british titles as Spaced (TV series), Shaun of the Dead, and Hot Fuzz. Those movies were awesome and to have the same director direct a Canadian-based film made it the best! The film is based on a 6 part comic book series that was created by a Canadian but the illustrations looked like manga. I've never read any of the comics yet but I will now definiatly soon. I rate Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World 9.5/10 stars! It was really that good, I can't say no to a Canadian/video game inspired/ based on comic series wonder... who can?
This next movie I had rented from Blockbuster. I had no idea what it was or what it was going to be about but I didn't care, I popped it in the disc tray and right away at the beginning of the movie I thought,"This has a lot to do with comic books" and I did some research (later on) and I found out it was based on a comic book series. I found out the comic series was created by the guys who made some spider-man and x-men comics, then I was interested. Kick-Ass is the single best movie I saw this summer. It was so funny and action packed and was really just all around fun. The beginning has you guessing, Kick-Ass (Superhero's name) gets his ass kicked by a bunch of gang members, he gets stabbed then hit by a car, he swears not to put the costume on again but it was hard for him, especially after meeting 2 new superhero's, Hit-Girl and Big Daddy. The movie had a stellar soundtrack too. It was really one of the best movies I've ever seen. It was bloody and was almost worse than Watchmen, but it was soooo good. I have to rate this movie 10/10.

New Twisted Metal Images have surfaced.

If you've been to David Jaffe's blog recently he posted a few new images for the upcoming Twisted Metal game.He announced the game would have live action cut scenes which is an awesome idea! I would love to see my favourite character (Mr.Grimm) come to life. He also announced there would only be 4 characters...Sweet Tooth, Mr.Grimm, Dollface, and The Preacher. It would be awesome if he included axel or no face into the mix but it would be too much of a struggle which I understand. Here are the pictures:

News for Twisted Metal Ps3

I received information for the new Twisted Metal game for ps3 by the clever David Jaffe via http://playstationlifestyle.net/ and here is what I picked up

Twisted Metal will include:
  • Metal and orchestral radio stations, along with custom soundtrack support
  • Offline split-screen 2 player co-op
  • Under 60 fps, but stable
  • No PlayStation Move support
  • Sixaxis functionality
  • ‘T for Teen’ ESRB rating
  • DLC coming
  • No collector’s edition
I am disappointed to here that Twisted Metal Ps3 will not have a collector's edition and will be rated T, I love the twisted humor in the previous games and I hope this T rating won't disturb it. But David Jaffe has good reasons for this, view this interview to read more about it : http://playstationlifestyle.net/2010/06/19/twisted-metal-info-explosion/.
More information soon to come!

Grown Ups and The A-Team reviews

I've been to the theater a bit this week to see the new releases Grown Ups and The A-Team. Both were excellent movies. The A-Team was great because it brought back the fun and excitement of the 80's and the characters really reminded me of those of the old show. Rampage Jackson plays Barackus which is pretty cool, I still think they should've used Mr.T still though because he still looks good for his age. The movie was action packed, with comedy and drama around every turn, the movie is filled with elaborate plans to take down the enemies and has a large twist near the end. The A-Team deserves 9/10. Grown Ups was a great movie starring pretty much all the big comedy actors Kevin James, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Rob Schiender and my favourite, David Spade. The group make an excellent combo, the comedy on the other hand has its ups and downs, every once and a while it trys too hard to be a family comedy, denying the fact that they have much adult humor in it, and it feels bland and tasteless at times. However, me and my friend and pretty much the whole audience were rolling on the ground. I'm glad to see David Spade in movies again, I haven't for a loooong time and he's the best. Grown Ups gets 8/10.

TWISTED METAL PS3 TRAILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God damn! I'm so happy right now because of the teaser of a reboot of one of the greatest game franchises of all freakin time! http://ps3.ign.com/dor/objects/951234/twisted-metal-ps3/videos/e310_twistedmetal_trl_061510.html <--- view this trailer to see Sweet Tooth return in the new Twisted Metal Ps3 game. I'm freakin' excited, out of all the things sony talked about in this year's E3; Exclusive Dead Space 2 and Medal of Honor content, Portal 2 is coming to Ps3, Little Big Planet 2, and even the Heroes on the Move game (A sick-ass looking game that contains Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, and Jak and Daxter all in one), Twisted Metal takes the cake. A series that I loved throughout my childhood will be returning, thank you David Jaffe, you rock! P.S. It will be released next year (2011).

Shutter Island Review

Watched the movie Shutter Island starring Leonardo DiCaprio yesterday, I must admit it was really confusing until the end, then the movie pretty much put itself together. It has one of the most crazily thought out endings I've ever seen, I won't spoil it but it is really mind bending. The story is about a detective in the 1950s that is investigating an island to find a missing prisoner (patient) from an asylum. The whole thing is weird for awhile when you see his wife in his dream sequences but you find out that the reason for his dream about his wife is because he is trying to block out the memory that his wife killed his children... I've said enough, go out and see the movie for yourself.
